Ben Abram Drafted By San Diego Padres
RHP Ben Abram was selected by the Padres in the 2018 MLB Draft today.

Congratulations to Ben and his family on this outstanding achievement and honor. Ben has been a tremendous Terrier for the past four years and has quite simply done it all in his time with the program. Ben has pitched for Team Canada at the World Championship where he shut down a powerhouse team from Japan in 2017. He has also had numerous outstanding outings versus Extended Spring and Fall Instructional League pros with the JNT. These performances put him on the radar with several MLB organizations. At the T12 two years ago Ben pitched Ontario to a championship victory in the final game at Rogers Center. He has also earned a scholarship to the University of Oklahoma to pitch for the Sooners. Today all of these great accomplishments along with a great baseball makeup, strong work ethic and a maturity beyond his years has put Ben in a position to chose between becoming a professional baseball player or a student-athlete at OU. ‎Best of luck Ben. We are very proud of you and wish you continued success in which ever path you choose. Terrier alumni Jake Sims was also drafted by the San Diego Padres today. Jake spent three year with the Terriers before acquiring a scholarship to Roane State CC in Tennessee. He has since transferred to St. Leo's in Florida. Congratulations to Jake and his family.
