‎Rhys Montgomery Hurls Perfect Game In Nashville
The 15u Terriers got off to a great start at the SANDLOTT World Series today with a 6-0 win over Canes Baseball (OH). Although the offense scored six runs, the story of this game was lefty Rhys Montgomery. Rhys masterfully weaved his way through the Canes lineup with pinpoint fastballs blended with a precision mix of sharp secondary pitches. Rhys threw just sixty pitches on his way to a perfect game.

He struck out twelve and left the rest to his defense.‎ Twenty-one up, twenty-one down! The Terriers staked Rhys to a 3-0 lead in the first inning. With Ethan Cane at second base, Ethan Magloughlin smashed an RBI double cashing Cane for the games first run. Later in the inning with two out Cameron Pollard had a clutch single to plate Tyson Gomm and Magloughlin. Tyson picked up two RBI of his own in the next inning with a double, scoring Kawshik Murali and Cane. The Terriers tacked on their sixth run in the fourth when Evan Farrell crossed on another Ethan Magloughlin RBI single. In game two the Terriers will face STL Naturals from Missouri. In action at the CABA (Continental Amateur Baseball Association) in Cleveland the 18u Terriers are off to a 2-0 start. In game one the Terriers took down the Pittsburgh Diamond Dawgs with a 9-1 rout. In game two Mashfactory fell 6-4 to the Terriers. The 17s tied game one 4-4 and were victorious in game two by a 9-2 score over the Lake Erie Warhawks. Logan Pelletier picked up the win on the mound, going four innings. Jacob Mahoney finished the game off, striking out five in three innings of work. The offense was led by Ethan Edwards, who was 3-4 including a double and two stolen bases. Jamal Armstrong chipped in with a hit, scored three times and also swiped a pair of bases. Zach Marriott, Devon Yogendran and Mahoney all had singles. Mahoney also had two hits including an RBI triple in the tie. Marriott, Dante Wright and Edwards counted base hits. The 16u Terriers came out of the gate in Cleveland with three consecutive victories. Game one was a 3-0 victory over the Summit City Sluggers. Liam Carey worked five excellent innings for the win. He struck out four and allowed just two hits. Jackson Evans got the final six outs, striking out two. Jack Iannuzzi, Connor O'Halloran and Matt Ward counted the Terrier RBIs. In game two the competition was IVL Baseball and in this back and fourth affair the Terriers would eventually walk away with a 9-5 win. Lefty Campbell Ellis started and had three strike-outs in three and two thirds innings of work. Daniel Freeman had the hot bat, going 3-3 with an RBI. Matt Ward was 1-3 with two RBI while Connor O'Halloran went 2-4 with an RBI. In their third game the 16s cruised to a 9-1 win ‎over the Lake Erie Warhawks. Lefty Connor O'Halloran fired four shut-out innings, striking out four. Elijha Hammill led the offense with 3 RBI that included a double. Ben Baker smacked 2 RBI and Matt Ward stayed hot going 2-3. Play continues in this marathon tournament on Friday.
