16'S March To Pblo Championship With Five Straight Wins!!!
The 16U Terriers ploughed their way through the competition at the Premier Baseball League of Ontario playoffs this weekend in London with five straight wins en route to the title.
Game one was a 8-3 win over the London Badgers.
Game two, a decisive 10-2 win over the Windsor Selects set the Terriers up for two more victories over the Ontario Royals and Ottawa by scores of 6-3 and 8-4.
The Terriers went into Sunday nights final as the number one seed and would face Windsor for the championship.
Connor O'Halloran got the call on the mound and was brilliant through five innings, carving Select hitters up one by one throughout the batting order.
The offensive highlight of this game came in the bottom of the second inning when Liam Bavington blasted a towering three run bomb to left to put the Terriers out in front by a 3-0 score.
The Terriers struck for another run in the fifth after Campbell Ellis reached on a liner to center, then advanced on a Connor O'Halloran bloop single. Campbell would eventually cross on Jack Iannuzzi's RBI single through the left side.
Campbell Ellis came on to pitch the sixth and seventh and was stellar in preserving the 4-0 shut-out.
Congratulations to the players and coaching staff on this outstanding achievement.
