Ben Abram Picks up Win in College Debut

6'7" RHP Ben Abram got his first NCAA D1 college start this past week. He picked up the victory in an Oklahoma Sooners 4-2 win over Dallas Baptist. Ben worked five excellent innings, allowing just four hits while striking out five. He did not walk a batter. The Sooners are 6-0.

RHP Sam Turcotte gave the Stony Brook Seawolves three critical innings while their game with Southeastern Louisiana was still close‎ and the offense could get on track. Sam gave up two hits and struck out four versus a potent Lions offense. Triggered by a fifth inning grand slam, the Seawolves would eventually come away with a 7-4 victory.
 
Head Coach Matt Senk said, "An overall terrific team effort led by Herrmann's, Turcotte's and Bonanno's performances on the mound". ‎The Seawolves are 3-3 on the young season. They have the #13 ranked Arkansas Razorbacks next weekend.
 
‎After splitting a DH Saturday with the College of St. Rose, the East Stroudsburg University Warriors moved their record to 5-1. SR Warrior Zarley Cina is hitting. 400, has six RBI and a .800 SLG%.
 
Joe Tevlin's Niagara University Purple Eagles picked up their first win of the year on Saturday in Albuquerque. Joe had two hits and two RBI, including the clutch game winner in a 5-3 victory over the University of New Mexico Lobos.
 
Many more Terrier alumni competing in the NAIA and NJCAA will kick off their 2019 College baseball campaigns in the coming weeks.
