Submitted By Dan Thompson on Tuesday, April 30, 2019
Terrier alumni RHP Cal Quantrill will make his Major League debut tomorrow (May 1st) for the San Diego Padres. He will face the Braves at SunTrust Park in Atlanta.

Congratulations to Cal and the entire Quantrill family.

Cal‎ is being called up from the San Diego Padres AAA affiliate El Paso. His record this young season is 3-1. He is the Padre's No. 12 prospect.

Cal spent three years in the Terriers program. During that time he was a member of several championship  teams including the 17U team that won the 2011 Sandlott World Series‎ in Nashville.

Cal was also a member of Canada's Junior National Team where he pitched at the 18u World Championship in Korea.

Upon graduating from the Terriers, Cal made his way to Stanford University where he had earned a significant scholarship.

‎He was the Padres first round pick (8th overall) in the 2016 MLB Draft.

Best of luck to Cal in his MLB debut!
