2019 MLB Draft... MacDonald to Yanks, Brigden to Tampa Bay
Submitted By Dan Thompson on Monday, June 10, 2019
Congratulations to former Terrier's Kyle MacDonald‎ and Trevor Brigden who were selected in the MLB Draft this past week.  Both were also part of The Baseball Zone's High Performance Program.

Trevor went in the 17th round to the Tampa Bay Rays.

He graduated from the Terriers in 2014 with a scholarship to Lackawanna College in Pennsylvania.

In his freshman season Trevor fired a complete game no hitter while striking out 15.

As a sophomore he had a sparkling 2.77 ERA, striking out 59 in 48 2/3 innings.

Trevor transferred to Okanagan College in 2018 where he served as a closer garnering a .50 ERA.

In 2019 he was 6-0 with a 2.00 ERA.

Leading up to the draft his fastball was clocked at 94 MPH, catching the of eye of several scouts.

Congratulations Trevor.

1B Kyle MacDonald was selected in the 27th round by the New York Yankees.

6'3" Kyle possesses pure lefthanded power at the plate. He is also an excellent defender.

Kyle earned a scholarship to Crowder College after graduating from the Terriers program.

Once completing his sophomore year Kyle went on to play for the NCAA D1 Red Wolves at Arkansas State.

In 2018 Kyle batted .346 with 15 homers and 50 RBIs. That earned him Sun Belt Conference Newcomer of the Year honors.

As a senior he  had 45 RBIs in 47 games and hit .301

Kyle also had a solid .987 fielding percentage at first base.

Kyle has already signed a contract with the Yankees.
