Austin Gomm Named All World Team Short Stop
Our Junior National Team wrapped up competition in Gijang Korea with a 4-4 record for a sixth place finish.  No medal, but Austin Gomm came home with a prestigious honor. He was named to the All World Team as the shortstop.  Congratulations to Austin on this tremendous accomplishment. 

Austin had 29 at bats, 10 hits and 10 RBI. His batting average over 8 games was .345 to go along with a .483 SLG% and a .406 OBP%.

‎On the defensive side Austin made 16 put-outs and had 16 assists. 

 

Canada picked up wins over China (17-3), The Netherlands (11-0), Nicaragua (9-0) and Chinese Taipei ‎(12-7). Their losses were to Korea, Australia, Japan and the USA. 

 

Elijha Hammill also had an excellent tournament for Team Canada. As one of the youngest players in the 18U event Elijha smacked 8 hits for a .364 avg. His SLG% was .500

He had a perfect 1.000 FLD% with 13 put-outs and 16 assists.

Elijha does not turn 16 until November!

 

On the mound Connor O'Halloran had a tidy 2.79 ERA. He fired 9.2 innings, allowing just 7 hits. 

 

Chinese Taipei won the gold medal, defeating Team USA 2-1 in the final.  Korea won the bronze with a win over Australia.
