College Round Up... Sam Turcotte Flirts with No-No
The college baseball season kicked off this past week and Terrier alumni Sam Turcotte came out firing bullets off the mound.  The 6'3" RHP took a no hit bid into the eighth inning, retiring the first 21 batters he faced.

After allowing the first batter in the eighth to reach on a single Sam came out of the game after his 85th pitch. He struck out nine in what would be a 7-1 Stony Brook University win over Sacred Heart. ‎The victory moved the Seawolves to 2-0 on the young season.

" That was the longest I've ‎ever had anything like that- any kind of perfect game, no hitter, even shut-out honestly," Turcotte said. " You've got to credit everybody. Anytime you score 7 runs on 11 hits you're going to win a lot of games."

‎In other action, Freshman infielder Zach Marriott got a few career firsts for Hendrix College. This past week he recorded two hits, scored his first college run and swiped his first base. His OPS is .450 after five games. Congratulations Zach.

‎The Oklahoma Sooners are 3-3.  In a 7-1 win over UT Arlington, 6'6" Ben Abram struck out two in his two innings pitched.

Several more Terrier alumni at all levels of college baseball will begin their respective seasons in the coming weeks.
