Three Terriers on initial roster for Canadian Futures Game
Three Ontario Terriers were named to the initial roster of 75 players that will be attending the Canadian Futures Showcase hosted by the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Academy.

Outfielders Cameron Chee-Aloy, Keegan O’Hearn and Lucas Alberti will represent the organization at the event that runs from September 20 to 24.

Chee-Aloy and O’Hearn are both members of the Baseball Canada Junior National Team program, while Alberti is currently representing Ontario at the Canada Summer Games in Niagara.

Terriers 18U head coach Dean Dicenzo has coached both Chee-Aloy and O’Hearn and is excited to see them get another opportunity to show what they can do in front of scouts at such a prestigious event.

“Cameron and Keegan are elite players,” Dicenzo. “They’ve been key contributors to our organization for a number of seasons. With the experience of playing with the Junior National Team, I know they’ll be ready to perform when the lights come on at the Canadian Futures Showcase.”

Ryan Pollard, the Terriers 16U head coach, has coached Alberti and knows how much potential he has as a player.

“Lucas is an all around player,” Pollard said. “He has speed, a good arm, hits for power and average. He can pretty much play any position in the infielder or outfield. Off the field and in the dugout he’s a great kid. He’s a team guy and enjoys being around his teammates.”

The remaining players that will compete at the event will be named on August 19.

The location of the showcase is still to be determined.
