The Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Academy has released the first 50 players that will participate in the Canadian Futures Showcase in September.

Among them is Terriers left-handed pitcher Jack Perry.

Perry, a Mississauga native, will take his 88 mile per hour fastball to the Rogers Centre mound from Sept. 16 to 19 at the annual showcase event.

The southpaw is currently uncommitted.

“The Canadian Futures Showcase is a national amateur baseball showcase held each September and hosted by the Blue Jays Baseball Academy,” the CFS website reads.

“The goal is to provide an opportunity for the best amateur baseball players born in Canada, with draft and college eligibility. It acts to centralize the best Canadian baseball players, with the intention of exposing them to as many MLB scouts and college recruiters as possible.”

In 2024, outfielder Ethan Mota-Dias and infielder Lincoln Rose represented the Terriers at the event.

This year’s showcase is the 11th annual.
