Joe Iannuzzi’s journey with the Terriers is impressive! He joined the organization in the summer of 2017 as the Head Coach for the 16u Terriers program. During his time as head coach, he led the team to win the 16u PBLO Championships and secured two US tournament victories that same year. His success with the team paved the way for his promotion to General Manager (GM) in 2021, where he continues to make significant contributions to the program’s growth and success.

• Co-founder and Director of Baseball Operations at The Baseball Zone and co-owner of SST Mississauga.

• Played internationally as a member of the Canadian National Team, including the 1988 Seoul Olympics, 1987 and 1991 Pan American Games, and the 1985 and 1991 Intercontinental Cup.
• Recipient of league awards and record-holding member of championship teams with the Toronto Maple Leafs of the Inter-County Baseball League.
• Two-time Inter-County League MVP.
• Attended and excelled in baseball at Cuyahoga Community College in Ohio and at the University of British Columbia as a member of the National Baseball Institute.
• Named to the All-Region first team in 1985 at Cuyahoga Community College.

• Served as Hitting Coach for Team Canada Juniors in 1996 and 1997, achieving 3rd place in the World Championships.

• Invited to Spring Training with the Toronto Blue Jays as a guest coach in 1997.
• Served as a scout for the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
• Managed the Toronto Maple Leafs of the Inter-County League in 2001, earning Manager of the Year honors.
• Managed the Brantford Red Sox of the Inter-County League from 2003 to 2006, earning Manager of the Year awards in 2003 and 2004 and winning the League Championship in 2006.
• VP and General Manager of the Brantford Red Sox since 2007; led the team to Inter-County Championships in 2008 and 2009.
• Instructed for more than 19 years, mentoring numerous successful players, including one of only six Canadians ever drafted in the first round of the MLB draft, as well as over 200 other professionals, draftees, and players on college scholarships.
• Rick serves as an OBA course clinician for Levels I, II & III and is a regular speaker at clinics across Canada and the United States.
• He has presented at the Ontario Best Ever Coaching Clinic three times and at the British Columbia Coaches Clinic twice.
• As a technical consultant, Rick has contributed to motion pictures and television productions, including “Angels in the Infield,” “Fever Pitch,” Men TV, Omni Television, and City TV’s “Batter Up.”

As a coach for more than 25 years – and part of the Terriers Baseball program since 2021 – what Coach Black enjoys most being around the game at this level is the chance to share, to challenge skill level, to improve mindset, and support players in pursuit of their goals at each step, while continuing to learn and improve himself.

After playing 20 seasons with the Erindale Cardinals in the COBA Sr League, Ian joined the Terriers’ coaching staff in 2016. He coached pitching for 16u, 17u, and 18u teams. In 2021, Ian became the pitch coordinator and launched our 12-month pitching program.

In the fall of 2024, he officially became the 16u head coach for the 2025 season. Ian believes good pitching and defence win games (and will keep you in many more), but he has a lot of fun watching our bats go on heaters, too!

This is Darren’s first year coaching in the Terriers Baseball Organization. From 2017 through 2024, he coached in the Milton Mets Organization, coaching the ’09 and ’12 birth years. Darren’s love of the game was fostered by growing up and playing baseball in Camlachie, Ontario, where baseball was a way of life for family and friends.
