Gomm, Pilots head to NAIA World Series
The No. 1 LSU Shreveport Pilots will take their 54-0 record to Lewiston, Idaho for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics World Series on Friday after sweeping their way through the Opening Round bracket they hosted. Austin Gomm walked four times and stole a base over the three games.
Brown recognized for his defence
Infielder Lucas Brown was honoured with a Gold Glove by the Chicagoland Collegiate Conference after fielding at a .928 clip. On the offensive side, he hit .277 with a .779 OPS in 50 games played.
Green, Hammill power Niagara to series sweep
Two former Terriers helped Niagara University sweep rival Canisius and punch their ticket to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament.
Jason Green hit three home runs, a solo shot in Game 1 and a two-run shot in each of Game’s 2 and 3. When the series was over, he had produced six hits, a walk and nine RBI.
Elijha Hammill stroked four hits and stole a base.
Chee-Aloy collects four knocks
Outfielder Cameron Chee-Aloy had four hits, walked twice and was hit by a pitch in the University of Illinois’ 2-1 series win over Ohio State.
Pinkney produces three hits
Catcher High Pinkney put together three hits, including a double, in two games played for Tulane University.
O’Hearn doubles
Outfielder Keegan O’Hearn doubled in Game 2 of the University of Michigan’s series against Indiana University.
