The Terriers are hitting the road and heading south this week for their annual fall college trip.
From Oct. 11 to 19, the team will practice and play games against college opponents as they prepare for a winter of development at The Baseball Zone.
The trip provides an important opportunity to compete against players at the next level while being evaluated in-person by college recruiters.
“The fall trip is the ultimate kick off tour for our players,” Terriers general manager Joe Iannuzzi said previously regarding the purpose of the schedule.
“It sets the tone all at once for the kind of exposure, competition, camaraderie and opportunities that will be presented to the players throughout the remainder of the year.”
With the ultimate goal of playing at the college or professional level, it’s a chance to measure expectations and set a plan for the offseason.
“These young players will soon have the opportunity to become collegiate academics and athletes,” he said.
“The chance to marvel at boundless campuses while seeing the results of drive and dedication on the other side of the field gives them a clear view and target for their future.”
