Five Run 7Th Paces 16U Terriers
After dropping a hard fought game one to the Ontario Royals the 16u Terriers roared back with a 7-2 victory in game two on Sunday. Pitching and defense kept the game close through six innings until the bats came alive and produced a five run outburst for the win. Righthanders Owen MacNeil and Mihai Aron went three innings each before handing the ball off to lefty Connor O'Halloran who pitched the seventh.

Defensively the game was highlighted by several excellent plays by middle infielders Jack Iannuzzi and Dante Wright. The Terriers were trailing 2-1 in the sixth when they scratched for a clutch two out run on an RBI single by Wright. After Aron took the Royals down in order in the bottom half of the inning the Terriers pushed five runs across in the top of the seventh. Christian Bottero got the rally going with an infield single. That was followed by a Michael Stremlaw single and a Mihai Aron walk to load the bases. Campbell Ellis was next in and he scorched a 2-2 pitch into the left field corner for two runs. Two more runs followed off the bat of Michael Manning when he pounded a double to the left center field gap. Michael eventually scored on Aiden Pickering's RBI ground out. The 16s will practice Tuesday then fire up a four game set with the Ontario Outlaws next weekend.
